Dinamo Zagreb defender Sergi Dominguez rejects Saudi offer, eyes Lazio move

Dinamo Zagreb bought Spanish centre‑back Sergi Dominguez from Barcelona for €1.2 million in the summer. The 20‑year‑old has attracted interest from several clubs, but he turned down a lucrative contract offer from a Saudi Arabian side to stay in Europe. Italian club Lazio is reportedly negotiating a five‑year deal that would see Dominguez earn €1.4 million per season, with a transfer fee around €10 million. Dinamo holds his contract until 2029 and must pay compensation to Barcelona, which retains a 20 % sell‑on clause.

Dominguez has become a key player for Dinamo, making 38 appearances across all competitions and being praised as the team's best‑rated performer in the league. Meanwhile, former Dinamo forward Mikel Olmo, speaking before a World Cup knockout match, reiterated his affection for the club, saying “Dinamo is the club I love most” and highlighting how his years in Zagreb shaped his career.
