The 2026 regional Maturità examinations in Lazio will involve 53,474 students, of which 39,842 are in Rome. The exams begin on Thursday, 18 June, with the first written Italian test at 8:30 a.m., followed by subject‑specific written tests and a final oral interview aimed at assessing each candidate’s educational and personal profile.
Among the examinees is veteran pop singer Enzo Ghinazzi, known as Pupo, who at 70 years old will sit the written Italian test at the Liceo delle Scienze Umane in Rome. He said he expects to score around 80, plans to continue to a degree in communication sciences, and described his pre‑exam routine as “making love” to relax.
