Davide Frattesi joins Lazio from Inter after transfer deal is restructured

Lazio and Inter Milan have finalized a deal for midfielder Davide Frattesi. The transfer initially faced bureaucratic delays due to Lazio's financial constraints and Serie A regulations regarding 'saldo zero' (zero balance). To resolve the impasse, the clubs restructured the agreement from a mandatory purchase to a loan with an option to buy.

The revised terms include a loan fee of approximately 5 million euros and an option to purchase for 10 million euros, with Inter retaining a 50% share of any future resale. Frattesi, who grew up in the Lazio youth system, is expected to undergo medical examinations in Rome to complete the move.

In related transfer news, Lazio is also exploring a move for former Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi to strengthen their attacking line, though high salary expectations remain a significant obstacle. Meanwhile, Inter is looking at potential replacements for Frattesi, with interest in players like Curtis Jones and Moussa Diaby.
