Lazio Regional Council examines bill for school pedagogy services

The Lazio Regional Council has begun examining a legislative proposal to establish school pedagogy services within the region's educational system. The bill, presented by councilor Cosmo Mitrano, aims to build upon existing laws regarding school psychology to create a more integrated approach to student welfare.

The initiative seeks to address youth distress by transforming schools into educational and relational hubs rather than purely academic institutions. Proponents argue that the measure will provide structured support for both students and families, fostering physical, mental, and relational well-being to prevent social and psychological issues before they escalate.

The proposal received general support during the session of the Youth Policies and Right to Study Commission. Hearings are scheduled to begin on September 29, following a period for submitting suggestions from relevant stakeholders.
