Lazio rises to Serie A top spot amid fan boycott

Lazio has moved to the top of the Serie A table following a 2-1 victory over Parma. The win brings Gennaro Gattuso’s side to 22 points after eight matches, placing them three points ahead of defending champions Inter Milan.

In the match against Parma, Kenneth Taylor opened the scoring in the 51st minute, followed by an own goal from Diego Carlos. Although Lonane scored for Parma in the 95th minute, Lazio maintained the lead to secure the three points.

Despite this on-field success, the club faces significant internal tension. Supporters have been boycotting home matches in protest against President Claudio Lotito, citing a lack of investment in the squad and long-standing friction with management. This boycott has resulted in low stadium attendance, with some matches seeing only a fraction of typical crowds.
