Josip Šutalo joins Lazio on loan from Ajax

Lazio has officially completed the signing of Croatian international defender Josip Šutalo from Ajax. The 26-year-old center-back joins the Italian club on a one-year loan deal.

The agreement includes a €3 million loan fee, with Lazio also covering Šutalo’s €2.5 million annual salary. The deal features a €7.5 million purchase option, which could increase the total transfer value to between €12 million and €15 million through various performance-based bonuses. Additionally, Ajax has secured a 10% clause on any future sale of the player.

Šutalo, who made 108 appearances for Ajax, arrives in Rome to undergo medical examinations. He will reunite with former Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor at Lazio. The move provides defensive reinforcement for manager Gennaro Gattuso as the club manages squad changes involving players like Alessio Romagnoli.
