Lazio signs protocol to open prison health clinic in Rebibbia

A protocol of understanding was signed at the Regione Lazio headquarters by President Francesco Rocca, regional commissioner Giacinto Siciliano and Asl Roma 2 director Francesco Amato. The agreement between Regione Lazio, the Department of Prison Administration and Asl Roma 2 establishes a Poliambulatorio Casa della Comunità inside the Rebibbia prison, with operations slated to begin in August 2025. The facility will deliver the same health‑care standards afforded to the general public, integrating medical, specialist and nursing services to reduce external transfers and improve continuity of care, especially for drug‑dependent inmates. Funding of €3,642,872 comes from PNRR allocations for proximity health services, and the concession is granted free of charge for thirty years, renewable for an additional twenty.
