Lazio squad updates: youth integration and goalkeeper hierarchy

Lazio is currently navigating challenges regarding its youth academy and squad depth. Within the first team, only Danilo Cataldi and Romano Floriani Mussolini have successfully transitioned from the club’s youth sector to secure consistent playing time. Other academy products, such as Renzetti, Farcomeni, and Serra, have yet to establish prominent roles.

In the goalkeeper position, manager Gattuso has maintained a clear hierarchy, designating Christos Mandas as the undisputed starter. While Mandas is away on national team duty, Edoardo Motta has been performing well during recent appearances. Although Mandas remains the primary choice, the club recognizes Motta’s value as a high-level alternative, with the potential for Motta to earn a seasonal debut to increase his market visibility ahead of the January transfer window.
