Lazio supporters boycott home matches to protest president Claudio Lotito

Lazio supporters, led by the Curva Nord group, are conducting a widespread boycott of home matches at the Stadio Olimpico to protest against club president Claudio Lotito. The protest, which has gained international attention through coverage in The Times, involves empty stands during home games, a boycott of official merchandising, and high attendance only at away matches.

Fans allege that Lotito has failed to adequately reinvest profits from his cleaning business into top-tier players. The unrest has taken a political dimension, with Rome Regional Governor Francesco Rocca joining calls for Lotito’s resignation. Additionally, supporters have threatened to withdraw political support from Forza Italia, the party for which Lotito serves as a Senator, during upcoming elections.
