Lazio’s financial woes spark criticism of President Lotito

Sky Sport journalist Stefano De Grandis told Radio Laziale that Lazio is in a financially unstable situation, with fans on the Aventine and players demanding exits. He said the appointment of Gennaro Gattuso as head coach shows the club is trying to move forward, but questioned why President Claudio Lotito has not stepped aside. De Grandis suggested Lotito’s continued presence is driven by a desire to secure a lucrative deal for the Flaminio stadium, which could add significant financial power to the club.

He also commented on the squad, praising defender Francesco Romagnoli’s attitude after his move from Milan, and discussed goalkeeper prospects, favouring Mandas as starter with Motta as backup. De Grandis expressed hope that forward Luca Zaccagni remains at the club despite recent injuries.

Overall, the remarks highlight concerns about Lazio’s management, contract expiries, and the club’s ability to invest in transfers amidst financial constraints.
