Lübben opens 9.6 million euro Liuba-Grundschule expansion
The city of Lübben has officially opened a 9.6 million euro expansion of the Liuba-Grundschule. The new construction is designed to accommodate up to 540 students, allowing for a three-track operation per grade level.
The expansion includes four new classrooms with associated group and teaching resource rooms, a school library, and a new administrative area for teachers and staff. To ensure accessibility, the city installed barrier-free sanitary facilities and a new main entrance that provides step-free access to the building.
Additional features of the project include a second schoolyard equipped with a covered outdoor classroom for open-air lessons, new bicycle parking, and 48 car parking spaces. The city also installed a photovoltaic system on the existing building to improve sustainability.
