Lübeck association organizes Baltic Sea fishing trip for cancer survivors

The Lübeck-based association ‘Die Glücksfischer’ e. V. organized a fishing excursion on the Baltic Sea for a group of former cancer patients and their siblings. In cooperation with the pediatric oncology ward of UKSH in Lübeck, the event aimed to provide a sense of normalcy and recovery following intensive medical treatments.

Participants gathered at the fishing harbor in Travemünde to board the ‘Prof. Oeftering’, a vessel belonging to the Eisenbahner-Hochseesportfischer-Verein e. V. The initiative seeks to offer nature experiences to children, adolescents, and individuals with disabilities, addressing a high demand for such community-driven recreational activities.
