Lübeck Hauptbahnhof rail services suspended for signal box construction

Rail services at Lübeck Hauptbahnhof are completely suspended from Friday evening through Monday morning due to signal box renewal work. The shutdown affects all Deutsche Bahn and erixx Holstein trains, forcing thousands of passengers to use replacement bus services.

Replacement buses will operate toward Kiel, Lüneburg, Neustadt, Scharbeutz, Travemünde, Bad Oldesloe, Preetz, and Schönberg. Due to limited capacity, the transport company erixx Holstein stated that passengers cannot take bicycles on these replacement buses.

The disruption coincides with the Lübeck Pride event and the final weekend of the summer holidays in Schleswig-Holstein, leading authorities to warn of increased passenger volumes and advise travelers to check connections and allow extra travel time.
