Lübeck hosts peaceful Christopher Street Day parade

Approximately 10,000 people gathered in Lübeck on Saturday, August 15, 2026, to participate in the Christopher Street Day (CSD) parade. The event proceeded peacefully through the city center, following a route that included the Holstentor.

Lübeck Police reported no significant incidents or disturbances during the procession or the associated festivities that had been ongoing since Friday. To ensure safety, the police increased their presence with support from the riot police, utilizing a security concept adapted from previous years and incorporating lessons learned from events in Berlin. While extensive security measures led to some traffic disruptions, authorities stated these remained within expected limits.
