L&C BIO secures patent for injectable tendon-derived ECM technology

L&C BIO, a specialist in human tissue regenerative medicine, has secured a domestic patent for injectable tissue reconstruction technology using human tendon-derived extracellular matrix (ECM).

The patented technology involves processing decellularized and degreased human tendon tissue into micro-particles to create an injectable form. Unlike methods that rely on specific proteins like collagen, this technology utilizes the inherent structural characteristics of the tendon's natural ECM. By securing key formulation conditions such as particle size, viscosity, and injection force, the company has established a foundation to transition this material technology into a commercial product.

This development expands L&C BIO’s ‘Tissue-specific ECM Platform’ into the tendon and ligament sector. The company aims to develop products for areas weakened by aging or injury, such as the Achilles tendon and shoulder tendons. This addition complements their existing musculoskeletal product line, which already includes bone and cartilage ECM products.
