LDC Ter Kimme service center to open in Sint-Lievens-Houtem

The local service center LDC Ter Kimme is scheduled to open on Monday, October 5, in Sint-Lievens-Houtem. The initiative is a collaborative effort between the local municipal government and WZC Ter Kimme, with the center being hosted in the WZC Ter Kimme cafeteria.

Designed primarily for residents aged 65 and older, the center serves as a low-threshold meeting place for social contact, practical support, and information. The establishment follows recommendations from the 2024 Memorandum of the senior advisory council and a 2025 study on elderly needs.

Activities at the center will include language courses, cognitive training, physical exercise, singing, and digital classes. The facility will be open on weekdays from 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00, and on weekends from 14:00 to 17:00.
