Lúdio Cabral files complaint against Cuiabá Mayor for alleged electoral harassment

State Deputy Lúdio Cabral (PT) has filed a formal complaint with the Labor Public Ministry (MPT) requesting an investigation into Cuiabá Mayor Abílio Brunini (PL) and his administration for alleged electoral harassment and discriminatory practices against municipal employees.

The allegations include the dismissal of a public health employee after 11 years of service for participating in a pro-Lula demonstration. Other reported practices include compulsory attendance at political meetings, prohibitions on wearing red clothing in municipal offices, and the continuous monitoring of employees' private social media to identify political leanings.

Reports also suggest threats of dismissal or salary cuts for workers who do not demonstrate political alignment with the Mayor. Legal experts note that while proving discriminatory dismissal is challenging, evidence such as messages, audio, and witnesses is critical for establishing liability.
