Patty Mills signs one-year deal with LDLC ASVEL

LDLC ASVEL has officially signed Australian guard Patty Mills to a one-year contract for the 2026-2027 season. The 37-year-old veteran, who turns 38 on August 11, will make his EuroLeague debut following a recent stint with Tenerife in Spain.

This signing marks a reunion between Mills and ASVEL president and head coach Tony Parker. The two former teammates previously won an NBA championship together with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. Mills brings extensive experience to the French club, including 16 NBA seasons and a bronze medal with the Australian Boomers at the Tokyo Olympics.

The recruitment comes during a period of significant financial restructuring for ASVEL. The club is reportedly facing a major budget reduction, dropping from a projected 59 million euros to approximately 24 million euros. This fiscal shift has led to the departures of several high-profile players, including Armoni Brooks, Daniel Theis, and Sylvain Francisco, before they could participate in official matches.
