Poland reports multiple serious traffic accidents and incidents

Poland has experienced several significant traffic accidents and incidents involving vehicles across various regions.

In Lędziny, a three-year-old boy managed to start an Audi with a manual transmission, driving approximately 20 meters before striking an internet installation box. The child was unharmed but taken to the hospital for observation, and authorities are investigating potential parental neglect.

A fatal collision occurred on national road DK 17 in Podkrasne when a Toyota crossed into the opposite lane and struck an Iveco bus, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old woman and leaving her son and grandson in serious condition.

Other notable incidents include a train colliding with a truck at an unguarded crossing in Okuniowiec, causing regional transport paralysis, and a cyclist being struck by a truck on Zemborzycka Street in Lublin, resulting in severe injuries.

On the S7 expressway toward Warsaw, a trailer overturned followed by a collision between two trucks caused major delays. In Żywiec, a four-vehicle collision involving a truck on the S1 caused road closures. Additionally, in Racławki, a 51-year-old train driver was detained after operating a train while intoxicated, nearly causing a child's stroller to fall from a platform. In Sopot, a 37-year-old Georgian national was arrested after hitting a 4-year-old with a bicycle while under the influence of alcohol and in possession of mephedrone.
