Le a cipővel! film celebrates 50 years

The classic Hungarian film ‘Le a cipővel!’ will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026. Based on the novel ‘Nyár a szigeten’ by István Csukás, the story follows a group of city boys on a three-day adventure where they attempt to experience independence while local villagers secretly watch over them.

The production involved a rigorous selection process, choosing actors from approximately 600 children in primary schools and camps. Due to the film's many water-based scenes, safety measures were extensive, including the presence of lifeguards, medical staff, and motorized water police during filming.
