Le Cong Vinh pursues professional football coaching career
Former Vietnamese national team striker Le Cong Vinh is transitioning into professional football coaching. After retiring from top-level play in 2016, the player who holds a record of 51 goals for the national team is pursuing formal academic and practical training.
In November 2025, Vinh completed an AFC B coaching certificate course organized by the Asian Football Confederation and the Vietnam Football Federation. During this period, he conducted practical training with the U15 and U17 youth teams at Song Lam Nghe An.
Vinh has also become the first Vietnamese trainee to enroll in an A-license coaching course in Japan. This program involves theoretical and practical components at the Japan Football Association and includes a period of direct coaching experience at Ishikawa University. His training schedule includes various stages through late 2026 to master modern coaching methodologies.
