Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano awards honor top productions
The 23rd edition of the Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano awards was held at the Teatro Argentina in Rome to honor excellence in the Italian and international theater scene.
Antigone, directed by Robert Carsen, was named the best prose production. Arturo Cirillo received the award for Best Direction for Le false confidenze. Other notable winners included Elio Germano, who won for Best Monologue, and performers Luca Lazzareschi, Pia Lanciotti, Paolo Serra, and Giulia Lazzarini.
The winners were selected by a popular jury consisting of approximately one thousand theater professionals and subscribers through an anonymous electronic voting system, following a preliminary selection by a jury of critics and theater directors.
