Le Mystère de la chambre jaune: New series adapts Gaston Leroux novel

A new television adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s classic detective novel, ‘Le Mystère de la chambre jaune’, has been released. This version modernizes the story by transforming the protagonist, Joseph Rouletabille, into a young female journalist named Joséphine ‘Jo’ Rouletabille, played by Claire Romain.

The plot is set in the Verdon Gorges, where Jo returns to her native village to investigate the violent assault of her childhood friend, Mathilde, who remains in a coma. The crime occurred in a ‘yellow room’ that was hermetically sealed from the inside, leaving no trace of an assailant.

Jo conducts her investigation alongside Théodore Sainclair, a true-crime podcaster, while facing friction from Inspector Marsan, a renowned police officer assigned to the case. The series is directed by François Velle.
