Lea Salonga defends unfollowing BTS members RM and J-Hope

Broadway star Lea Salonga has addressed her decision to unfollow BTS members RM and J-Hope on social media. The move followed reports that the K-pop artists attended a concert featuring Chris Brown.

Salonga clarified during a Threads session that her decision was not intended to be punitive toward the musicians. She explained that the controversy surrounding the event was negatively impacting her emotional well-being, stating, “I recognized that I was waking up sad and/or upset, or find myself way too affected. This was unhealthy so I took a step back, for me.”

She acknowledged the autonomy of both the BTS members and herself, noting that while her actions might cause consternation among other fans, she is entitled to make personal decisions for her own sake.
