Lea Salonga receives first Filipina star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Singer and actress Lea Salonga was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 4, 2026. She is the first Filipina to receive this distinction and the fifth recipient from the Philippines.

Salonga, known for her roles in ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Aladdin’, and ‘Mulan’, was nominated for the honor by the Manila International Film Festival. The ceremony, held at 6225 Hollywood Boulevard near the Pantages Theatre, was attended by hundreds of fans and guests including Ming-na Wen, Brandy, Darren Criss, and H.E.R.

During the event, Salonga reflected on her career, which began at age seven in ‘The King and I’. She expressed her hope that her achievement would inspire future generations of Filipino and Asian artists to pursue opportunities in Hollywood.
