Lea Salonga to receive first Filipina star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Acclaimed performer Lea Salonga is set to become the first Filipina to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony is scheduled for September 4 at 6225 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Pantages Theatre. Salonga was selected as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026 under the Live Theatre/Live Performance category.

In recent activity, Salonga participated in ‘Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration’ at Disney California Adventure Park during D23 Day. During the concert, she performed ‘A Whole New World’ with Brandy and ‘Reflection,’ the song she originally recorded as the singing voice of Mulan. She also reunited with actress Ming-Na Wen, who provided the speaking voice for Mulan.

Salonga’s career includes a 1991 Tony Award for her role in ‘Miss Saigon’ and significant contributions to Disney films as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine and Mulan. Her upcoming Hollywood honor is expected to include participation from Ming-Na Wen.
