LEADER funding approved for projects in Dorsten and Raesfeld

The Local Action Group (LAG) of the LEADER region Hohe Mark has selected several new projects for funding, covering environmental protection, digital information, and inclusive leisure facilities in Dorsten and Raesfeld.

In Dorsten, approximately 38,600 euros are earmarked for two main initiatives. The first involves installing four analog information pillars and one digital, interactive pillar across the districts of Alt-Wulfen, Deuten, Rhade, and Lembeck to promote local tourism and volunteerism. The second project aims to protect biodiversity by installing a permanent guiding system with crossing aids for amphibians on Frankenstraße between Gecksbach and Krusenhorstbach.

In Raesfeld, the LAG has selected the ‘WasserMarsch! – Spielraum Zukunft’ project, which proposes the creation of an inclusive water and playground in the Bürgerpark. The project includes a water play area with a pump station, experience channels, and a play tower, with approximately 171,500 euros in LEADER funding planned. Implementation is subject to final approval from the district government. Additionally, the LAG has selected family-oriented nature trails in collaboration with the Hohe Mark Nature Park.
