Leaders pay tribute to RSS leader Eknath Ranade
Indian political leaders have paid tribute to Eknath Ranade, a senior pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the architect of the world-renowned Vivekananda Rock Memorial, on his death anniversary.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed their respect on social media, noting Ranade's dedication to national service and social awakening. Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha also lauded his organizational skills and commitment to the nation.
Dr. Dinesh Sharma, a BJP Rajya Sabha MP, highlighted Ranade's pivotal role in the construction of the memorial in Kanyakumari. Following the decision to build the monument during Swami Vivekananda's birth centenary in 1963, Ranade successfully navigated various administrative and social challenges. He implemented a fundraising strategy involving schools, students, state governments, and private donors, leading to the memorial's inauguration by President Varahagiri Venkata Giri in 1970.
