Leadership changes in Chilean Gendarmería and PDI

Colonel Claudio González García has assumed his role as the new Regional Director of Gendarmería in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica Region. With 27 years of service, primarily in penitentiary security, González García previously served as the unit chief of the Biobío Penitentiary Complex. His initial objectives include assessing the regional penitentiary reality and ensuring the continuity of ongoing institutional projects.

In the Valparaíso Police Region, the Investigations Police (PDI) conducted a change of command ceremony. Inspector Polly Ureta Aburto has succeeded Inspector Guillermo Gálvez Carriel, who led the regional unit for three years. The transition aims to maintain investigative coordination across the Valparaíso region.
