Leadership changes reported in Mexican health departments
In Ciudad Juárez, the state health department confirmed the removal of Rogelio Covarrubias from his position as director of Health District II on October 15. While official reasons for his removal were not disclosed, Covarrubias remains within the state health system structure. Héctor Puertas López, a surgeon with a master's in Public Health and experience in the State Health Services since 2009, has been appointed as the new director.
In Quintana Roo, Flavio Carlos Rosado has departed the state's Secretariat of Health. His exit has drawn scrutiny regarding the management of the regional healthcare system, which faces ongoing challenges including medicine shortages, infrastructure deficiencies, and difficulties in accessing medical care. Rosado is reportedly seeking a municipal coordination role with the Morena party in Isla Mujeres.
