Leadway Assurance launches multi-generational insurance plan in Nigeria

Leadway Assurance has launched the Leadway Lifetime Plan, a whole-of-life insurance solution designed to provide financial protection for extended family networks in Nigeria.

Unveiled in Lagos, the plan aims to address the evolving financial responsibilities of the ‘Sandwich Generation’—individuals who simultaneously support children, spouses, and aging parents or other relatives. Olufunmilayo Amanwa, Executive Director of Technical and Operations at Leadway Assurance, stated that the product was developed to respond to modern family structures where financial duties often extend beyond the nuclear household.

The plan combines long-term protection with living benefits. For instance, after five years of full premium payments, policyholders and their spouses may be eligible to access up to 50 per cent of their current sum assured upon the diagnosis of a covered critical illness, providing financial relief during serious health crises.
