The 2026 League of Legends World Championship is set to begin with the Play-In Stage on October 16. Four teams—Cloud9 KIA, Karmine Corp, FURIA Esports, and MVK Esports—will compete for a single spot in the Swiss Stage.

Karmine Corp enters the tournament as a favorite following strong performances against European teams and high-profile victories at the Esports World Cup. FURIA Esports is also considered a strong contender due to their international experience representing the CBLOL at the Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup.

To support the event, the platform SOOP will launch a dedicated event page on October 15. The platform plans to host live broadcasts on the official SOOP LCK channel and will feature co-streaming from seven different streamers. Viewer participation programs include a raffle for 100,000 'Hextech Chest & Key' sets based on watch time, a Mission Advent Calendar, and match prediction games. The tournament will conclude with the Finals on November 15.
