Leah Behn addresses death of King Harald V

Leah Behn, the 21-year-old daughter of Princess Märtha Louise, has spoken publicly for the first time regarding the death of her grandfather, King Harald V, who passed away on August 28.

During her appearance on the television program ‘Skal vi danse’, Behn addressed the recent loss, stating that the past few weeks have been very special and noting that her grandfather was “in many ways all of Norway’s grandfather.” She expressed feeling overwhelmed by the intense public scrutiny facing her and her family.

Behn also reflected on her personal history, mentioning the loss of her father, Ari Behn, when she was 14. She described how she used makeup as a “safe space” to cope with tragedy and explained that her participation in the dance competition is an effort to break through personal barriers and allow the public to see her more authentically.
