Leah Poulton appointed Managing Director of England Women
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has appointed former Australian batter Leah Poulton as the new Managing Director of England Women. Poulton will oversee the performance and development of the England Women's national team, the England Women A team, and the Under-19s, as well as the broader high-performance system.
Poulton brings extensive experience to the role, having played 90 matches for Australia before retiring in 2015. Most recently, she served as the Head of Elite Female Cricket at Cricket New South Wales for six years. She also previously spent three years at Cricket Australia as a High Performance Coach, where she helped design the nation's women's high-performance pathways.
In her new position, Poulton will work alongside Head Coach Charlotte Edwards and Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt. Her appointment comes at a pivotal time for the program, following the team's recent appearance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final and ahead of the Metro Bank Women’s Ashes, which will be held on home soil next year.
