Leandro Costa Brutten resigns from Bariloche City Council

Leandro Costa Brutten, a councilman for the Incluyendo Bariloche party, has announced his resignation from the San Carlos de Bariloche City Council following an incident of domestic violence involving his ex-wife.

In a public statement, Costa Brutten admitted to a violent physical altercation in which he attempted to forcibly take a mobile phone from his ex-wife while she was attempting to film him. He described his behavior as illegal and contrary to human respect, stating he lacks the “moral and legal aptitude” to represent the citizens of Bariloche.

While Costa Brutten has publicly assumed full responsibility for the incident, reports indicate that no formal complaint has been filed with the prosecutor's office or local police at the time of his announcement. His resignation is expected to be formally presented on Friday, initiating the process to appoint a successor from his political bloc.
