Leandro Rud's pets seek new homes following his death

Following the death of model agent Leandro Rud on August 7, animal welfare organizations and friends are working to find permanent homes for his remaining pets. Rud, who passed away at age 51 after a battle with salivary gland cancer, was well known for his activism regarding animal rights and welfare.

While several of his dogs, including Chop and Luna, have already been rehomed—with media personality Mariana Brey adopting two—three dogs still require urgent placement. These include Tony, a dog with a physical disability resulting from a previous accident, and the inseparable pair Caco and Chicha.

Organizations such as Zoonosis Escobar and the Dos Orejas shelter are coordinating the search. Officials describe the remaining animals as well-cared-for, affectionate, and accustomed to living in groups and traveling by car.
