Lešany Military Technical Museum prepares for 22nd Tank Day

The 22nd Tank Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at the Military Technical Museum in Lešany. This year’s event features a “Cold War” theme, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Winston Churchill’s Fulton speech. The program includes dynamic demonstrations of military equipment used by both sides of the conflict and a combat reenactment of the battle for the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen.

Organizers and local authorities in Týnec nad Sázavou are warning visitors about significant traffic disruptions. Due to bridge reconstruction in Kamenný Přívoz, several roads will be closed, necessitating detours through Jílové u Prahy, Kamenice, and Krhanice. High traffic volumes are expected in Chrást nad Sázavou and near the museum.

To avoid congestion, visitors are encouraged to travel by train. A special retro train, featuring a Class 749 “Bardotka” locomotive, will depart from Prague-Vršovice at 7:10 AM, stopping at Prague-Kačerov and Prague-Braník before arriving at Krhanice, which is a 20-minute walk from the museum.
