Leapmotor A05S compact EV unveiled with LiDAR and detailed interior

Leapmotor has released official interior photographs of its upcoming compact electric sedan, the A05S. The vehicle is equipped with a LiDAR sensor that enables advanced driver‑assistance features such as Urban Navigate on Autopilot, highway‑assist and memory parking.

Inside, the A05S offers a dual‑spoke multifunction steering wheel, a floating central touchscreen, a full‑LCD instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, vertical double cup‑holders, ambient lighting, a rear central armrest and embroidered head‑rest logos. The exterior follows the brand’s A‑Series styling with a closed front grille, distinctive headlights, semi‑hidden door handles, two‑tone paintwork, five‑spoke alloy wheels and a “smiling‑face” rear light inspired by the Leapmotor A10.

The dimensions are 4,200 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,560 mm high with a 2,605 mm wheelbase. Two powertrain options are offered: a 70 kW (94 hp) motor with a 39.8 kWh battery for up to 405 km range, or a 90 kW (121 hp) motor with a 53 kWh battery delivering up to 510 km, depending on the test cycle. Pricing is expected to be about US$500 lower than the related Leapmotor A10 SUV, which has become one of China’s best‑selling models.
