Leapmotor B05 electric hatchback launches in Australia, priced from $35,888
Leapmotor announced that its B05 rear‑wheel‑drive electric hatchback will be released in Australia in August 2026. The model will be sold in two grades – the entry‑level Style starting at AU$35,888 and the longer‑range Design LR at AU$39,888. Both variants feature a 160 kW (240 Nm) motor, with the Style equipped with a 56.2 kWh battery delivering up to 401 km (WLTP) and the Design LR a 67.1 kWh pack for up to 482 km (WLTP). Fast DC charging lifts the battery from 30 % to 80 % in 16 minutes for the Style and 18 minutes for the Design LR, and the cars include a 3.3 kW vehicle‑to‑load (V2L) function.
Special drive‑away offers of AU$35,990 and AU$39,990 are available for purchases delivered between 1 July and 30 September 2026. The B05 comes with a six‑year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an eight‑year/160,000 km battery warranty, plus eight‑year roadside assistance. Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind‑spot monitoring, lane‑keeping assistance and a 360‑degree camera. The launch adds a competitively priced electric hatchback to the Australian market alongside models such as the BYD Dolphin and MG4.
