Leapmotor adds B05 sedan and A05S hatch to its electric vehicle lineup

Leapmotor unveiled two new electric models as part of its expansion strategy with Stellantis. The B05 compact sedan, reviewed in Norway, is offered with two battery sizes – a 56.2 kWh pack delivering about 401 km range and a 67.1 kWh pack promising up to 482 km. Prices start at €27,900 for the lower‑spec version and €31,900 for the higher‑spec model. The vehicle features a minimalist interior with an 8.8‑inch digital cluster and a central 14.6‑inch HD screen, but critics note a complex menu system and limited analogue controls.

The A05S compact hatch, detailed in Portuguese reports for Brazil and Paraguay, builds on the A10 utility platform. It is available in a 39.8 kWh version with a 94 hp motor delivering a 405 km CLTC range, and a 53 kWh version with a 121 hp motor and up to 510 km range. Dimensions are 4.2 m long, 1.8 m wide and 1.56 m high, with a 2.605 m wheelbase. Advanced driver‑assist features include LiDAR‑based urban autopilot, highway support and a memory‑based parking system. Interior amenities comprise a digital instrument panel, wireless smartphone charging and induction charging for accessories. The A05S is positioned against BYD Dolphin, MG4 Urban and similar models, with pricing expected to be lower than the A10 utility.

Both models underscore Leapmotor’s push into the global compact EV segment, leveraging Stellantis' distribution network to enter new markets such as Brazil.
