Stellantis expands Leapmotor electric and hybrid SUV line in Argentina and Brazil

Stellantis is rolling out the Chinese‑owned Leapmotor brand across South America, launching the ultra‑hybrid B10 and C10 SUVs in Argentina with a network of twelve dealerships and a dedicated showroom in Mendoza. The B10 uses REEV technology to claim more than 900 km of combined range, while the C10 adds a larger interior and premium equipment.

In Brazil, Stellantis’ president for South America, Herlander Zola, announced a partnership strategy that leans on Leapmotor (and Dongfeng) to broaden the company’s electrified portfolio and accelerate product development. The aim is to counter the rapid growth of Chinese‑made vehicles in the local market.

Meanwhile, Leapmotor has updated its B10 model in China with an 800‑volt architecture, larger LFP batteries (up to 69.7 kWh) and fast‑charging capability (30 % to 80 % in 16 minutes), raising the claimed CLTC range to 610 km. Similar 800‑volt technology underpins the European‑market B05, priced under €20 000, and the low‑price Leapmotor T03 competing with Dacia’s Spring in Central Europe. These technical upgrades are being mirrored in other regions, including a larger‑battery, 800‑V B10 version slated for Australia and a 2027‑model B10 in Malaysia.

Stellantis also confirmed that the three‑row C16 SUV will arrive in Argentina in 2027, offering both fully electric and extended‑range variants with up to 520 km of electric range and a six‑seat configuration. The expansion reflects Stellantis’ broader $14 billion investment plan for South America through 2030, targeting new models and a growing dealer network.
