Leapmotor begins B10 electric SUV production in Spain

Leapmotor has commenced pre-production of its B10 electric SUV at the Stellantis plant in Figueruelas, Zaragoza. This strategic move allows the Chinese automaker to manufacture within the European Union, effectively bypassing the 30.7% combined tariff currently imposed on electric vehicles imported from China. The production process in Zaragoza includes stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly, which helps qualify the vehicle as being of European origin for customs purposes.

Separately, Spain has seen a significant rise in foreign direct investment, which reached 12,446 million euros in the first half of 2026. This represents a 31.2% increase compared to the previous year. The United States remains the leading investor, contributing 23% of the total, with its gross investment growing by 84% year-over-year. Greenfield investment, involving new projects and production capacity, has seen a growth of over 52%.
