Stellantis and Leapmotor begin electric SUV production in Spain

Stellantis and the Chinese automaker Leapmotor have officially commenced mass production of the B10 electric SUV at the Stellantis manufacturing plant in Figueruelas, near Zaragoza, Spain. This marks a significant step in the strategic partnership between the two companies, which includes a joint venture named Leapmotor International. Under this arrangement, Stellantis holds a 51% stake and manages the brand's sales and production outside of China.

By manufacturing vehicles locally in Europe, Leapmotor aims to mitigate the impact of European Union tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles and reduce logistics costs. The Zaragoza facility, which currently produces models such as the Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208, and Lancia Ypsilon, will also prepare for the production of the B05 electric hatchback, which is expected to begin in early 2027.

The B10 is a C-segment electric SUV designed for the European market, offering a range of over 400 km. The collaboration leverages Leapmotor's electric vehicle technology alongside Stellantis's established industrial expertise and quality control systems to strengthen the brand's presence across the European Union.
