Leapmotor denies dumping excess vehicle stock in Australia

Leapmotor Australia has denied claims that the Chinese automotive brand is dumping excess vehicle supply into the Australian market. Andy Hoang, head of Leapmotor Australia, stated that the company utilizes a rigorous demand forecasting and inventory management process facilitated by its partnership with Stellantis.

Hoang emphasized that the company does not receive arbitrary shipments from its head office, but rather orders stock based on specific local needs. The brand is currently managing its rollout of models, including the C10 mid-size SUV and the B10, with the B05 small hatch launching recently and the B03X light SUV expected in November.

This approach contrasts with other Chinese manufacturers like BYD, which has reportedly faced high inventory levels requiring unconventional storage solutions, and MG, which has significantly expanded its model lineup in Australia since 2022.
