Leapmotor expands B05 electric hatchback availability
Leapmotor is expanding the availability of its new B05 electric medium hatchback in international markets. In Austria, the model has been available at all 41 Leapmotor locations since August. The vehicle features a 160 kW (218 hp) rear-mounted electric motor, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds with a near 50:50 weight distribution. To optimize driving dynamics for European drivers, Leapmotor collaborated with the global chassis team from Stellantis.
Technically, the B05 utilizes the Leap 3.5 modular architecture and Cell-to-Chassis technology. Depending on the battery capacity (56.2 kWh or 67.1 kWh), the WLTP range reaches up to 482 kilometers. The vehicle supports fast charging, capable of recovering a 30% to 80% charge in approximately 17 minutes.
In Brazil, Leapmotor is showcasing the B05 at an event in Interlagos to gauge consumer interest. While a formal launch date for the Brazilian market has not been confirmed, the model is positioned as a competitor to existing electric hatchbacks, offering a rear-wheel-drive configuration to differentiate itself from front-wheel-drive competitors.
