Leapmotor B03X electric SUV priced from €17,500 as production moves to Spain

Chinese EV maker Leapmotor, backed by Stellantis, has launched the B03X compact electric SUV in Spain with a starting price of €17,500 after subsidies from the Plan Auto+ and CAE certificates. The model measures 4.27 m long, offers two LFP‑battery options (39.8 kWh or 53 kWh) delivering 292–382 km WLTP range, 177–197 hp, and a 0‑100 km/h time of 8.6 seconds. It features a 14.6‑inch central touchscreen, 21 ADAS aids, and a flexible interior with a 407‑litre boot that can expand to over 1 350 litre.

Production of the B03X will shift to Stellantis’ Villaverde plant near Madrid, with the first units expected in September 2027. The same partnership also plans a joint Opel‑Leapmotor electric SUV to be built in Zaragoza, targeting a 2028 launch. Both projects aim to reduce development time, cut costs, and meet EU rules requiring a high share of European components in Chinese‑origin EVs.

The B03X’s aggressive pricing undercuts rivals such as BYD Atto 2, Kia EV3 and Renault 4 E‑Tech, positioning it as one of Europe’s most affordable fully electric SUVs.
