Leapmotor reports profit and announces Spanish production

Leapmotor has reported its third consecutive profitable half-year, recording a net profit of 210 million Yuan (approximately 26.9 million Euro) for the first half of 2026. The company saw a 57.2 percent increase in revenue, reaching 38.11 billion Yuan, driven by the delivery of 356,487 vehicles—a 60.8 percent increase compared to the previous period.

To maintain competitiveness and navigate trade barriers, Leapmotor is expanding its manufacturing footprint into Europe. Starting in October 2026, the company plans to begin production of two models at a facility in Spain.

A key factor in the company's ability to remain profitable while competitors face losses is its high level of vertical integration. Leapmotor develops and manufactures much of its own critical electronics, including battery control systems and central computers, which helps reduce unit costs and decrease reliance on external suppliers.
