Lebanese Army position targeted by drone strike in Nabatieh al-Fouqa

A drone strike targeting a Lebanese Army position in the town of Nabatieh al-Fouqa has resulted in one death and several injuries among military personnel. Lebanese media reported that three soldiers were wounded in the attack.

This incident occurred amidst a broad escalation of military operations in southern Lebanon. The escalation includes airstrikes, artillery shelling, and explosions across multiple towns, including Al-Mansouri, Khiam, Al-Qantara, Bani Hayyan, and Ayta al-Jabal. Reports indicate that Israeli forces have conducted demolition operations near Khiam and Al-Mansouri, destroyed water networks and wells, and targeted residential homes.

In a political development, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri warned against the non-renewal of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mandate. Berri suggested that the United States and President Donald Trump could exert pressure to compel Israel to end the war in Lebanon, noting that Israel's lack of commitment to existing agreements remains a primary obstacle to a ceasefire.
