Lebanese authorities arrest woman for child abduction in Antelias

Lebanese Internal Security Forces have resolved a child abduction case in Antelias. An Arab woman was arrested after she kidnapped a one-year-old child from his family's home on August 9, 2026.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had befriended the child's mother approximately one month prior to the incident. The suspect allegedly used the child in selfies sent to a man she was interested in, claiming the child was hers to pressure him into marriage. A male accomplice was previously detained in Ouzai with the child, who is of Syrian nationality. The child has since been returned to his parents.
