Lebanese cultural festivals launch in Mexico City and Beirut

Cultural festivals celebrating Lebanese heritage are launching in both Mexico and Lebanon. In Mexico City, the third edition of the Lebanese Film Festival (FECIL) opened at the Centro Libanés. The event featured the premiere of ‘A Sad and Beautiful World’ by director Cyril Aris and aims to connect the Mexican-Lebanese community with their roots through short films, documentaries, and masterclasses.

In Beirut, the 13th edition of the Lebanese International Theater Festival is scheduled for September 19 to 22. Organized by the Association Tiro pour les Arts et le Théâtre Istanbouli, the festival will host performances from Lebanon and the Arab world. Founder Kassem Istanbouli stated that the festival aims to maintain cultural openness despite the ongoing war context in Lebanon and seeks to promote cultural decentralization through the creation of the Lebanese National Theater.
